Banning is home to world-class shopping, mountain resorts, and the most affordable golfing in Southern California. Banning is a city located in Riverside County, California. It is situated in the San Gorgonio Pass, also known as Banning Pass. It is named for its founder, Phineas Banning, stagecoach line owner and the "Father of the Port of Los Angeles." Banning sits at an elevation of 2400 feet and is estimated to having current population around 28,686. Making up part of an area known as the "Inland Empire", Banning is located 257 miles southeast of Las Vegas, 85 miles east of the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, and 101 miles north of San Diego. San Bernardino observes an average of 311 days of sunshine per year, with temperatures in the low 30's to high 60's in the winter months, and low 70's to well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. There are many activities to take part in here, from casual to adventurous. The City of Banning is surround by a number of festivals throughout the year. Surrounded by mountains and lot's of wide open space, don't hesitate to take advantage of recreational biking, hang gliding/paragliding, hiking/camping, golf, boating/fishing and skiing. Not to mention that you are only 12 miles from Casino Morongo and 23 miles from Palm Springs which contains a great assortment of Night Clubs ranging from Hip Hop, Country, or Salsa Y Merengue. Also not to far away are several Universities, along with a great diversity of community colleges to pick from for your educational needs.

Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon is a public 36-hole world-class golf course that has hosted the “Symetra Tour IOA Championship." for the past 5 years. The golf club boasts two exceptional golf courses: The Champions and The Legends which plays 7,377 yards and 7,442 yards from the back tee. Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon has the country’s best practice facilities with a double-end 420-yard driving range, two large putting greens, and two chipping greens. Both golf courses have six sets of tees and can be challenging, yet enjoyable for any skill level of golfer.
Sun Lakes Country Club opened in 1987 and features 3,327 homes and condos and offers prestigious resort-style living. It is located 30 miles west of Palm Springs and just south of the 10 freeway on Highland Springs Road and Sun Lakes Blvd. You'll find meticulously maintained grounds, great recreational facilities and friendly people all near mountains, lakes, desert, beach, shopping and medical facilities.
The Cabazon Dinosaurs have long been regarded as one of the most iconic roadside attractions. Featured in cult classics such as Pee Wee Herman’s Big Adventure and The Wizard, the dinosaurs have staked their place in pop culture.
Malki Museum is the oldest non-profit museum founded by Native Americans on a California Indian reservation, and has been the inspiration for several other Indian museums. It has a unique history and is committed to preserving the cultural traditions and history of the Cahuilla Indians and other southern California Indian tribes. Malki also founded an academic publishing press in 1965, which has printed many high quality books and materials on Native American culture, including the well-known Journal of California and Great Basin Anthropology.

Hemmerling Elementary School was built in 1957 and was named after Robina Hemmerling, an educator, in honor of her service to education in the San Gorgonio Pass area.
There are approximately 500 students in Kindergarten through fifth grades. Hemmerling School is a Title I school which houses a Computer Lab and 17 classrooms.Founded in 1907, the University of Riverside is a private liberal arts and sciences university, consistently ranked among the best universities in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
The Moreno Valley College is fast becoming the health education center of choice in the Inland Empire with strong programs in health sciences, human, and public services. Each semester, more than 14,000 students pursue associate's degrees, transfer to a four-year college or university, or a career certificate that qualifies them to enter their chosen field.
CHC offers more than 50 majors in the liberal arts and sciences, vocations, and technical studies, and served 7,963 students in the 2020-2021 academic year. Students can receive multidisciplinary degrees, including Fine Arts, Health Sciences, Liberal Studies - Teacher Preparation, and Social Science, and the Fire Science and Emergency Medical Services-Paramedics programs are some of the finest community college programs in the state, with CHC the primary trainer for paramedics in San Bernardino and Riverside counties.
Mt. San Jacinto College is a comprehensive community college that is one of California’s 116 community colleges. A single college District, MSJC serves a 1,700-square-mile area from the San Gorgonio Pass to Temecula. We serve students throughout this region from the San Jacinto, Menifee Valley, Temecula Valley and San Gorgonio Pass campuses, and many off-site locations.
